IgE-Driven Diagnostics Phase One
1963 - 1970
During this period, peanut allergy research coalesced around a shift from skin-based testing toward serum-based diagnostics, underpinned by the growing understanding of Immunoglobulin E (IgE)–mediated allergy. In-vitro assays for allergen-specific antibodies were developed, and efforts to purify allergens advanced component-based diagnostic approaches. Methodologies for evaluating immunotherapies also gained rigor, aligning laboratory measurements with clinical outcomes in allergy monitoring.
